Description
The Basic Needs Program provides support, information and referrals to low income families, single parents and newcomers residing in Northeast and Argyle, specifically within N5Y & N5V postal codes. The first touch point for individuals and families is often our Community Resource Portable. Residents can access basic needs items, such as: clothing, food, hygiene items, baby food and diapers etc. In addition to one on one support, we offer a breakfast program during March break and the summer months to children to ensure they have a good start to their day and receive a nutritional meal. Group sessions and activities are also offered to help build skills, reduce isolation, and develop connections in the community.

Good Food Boxes
LUSO Community Services is proud to be one of the host sites for the London Good Food Box as it strives to be part of a bigger change in the city of London.
The London Good Food Box is a program of London’s Child and Youth Network, which distributes low cost boxes of vegetables and fruit once a month in neighbourhoods across London.
One box costs $14, but includes approximately $20 worth of vegetables and fruit. The price you pay is lower because the fruits and vegetables are bought in bulk. The fruits and vegetables change depending on what’s in season and a good price. Everyone gets the same box.
Individuals or businesses are welcome to sponsor a box (or several) that would be given to a local family in need.
